ESP-Disk’ radio show 2006 reup

spindly footman espHere is a repeat of our ESP-Disk’ label sampler show. Lotsa crazy free jazz from the early 1960s. Also underground folk-rock and protest music. The label is currently undergoing a rebirth with a healthy reissue/repackage programme and many new releases besides. To better communicate what I feel about this astonishing non-profit label, which was pivotal in documenting a side of the New York jazz and underground scene at a time when no-one else was apparently interested, I offer this drawing of a spindly fellow and a spiral motif. From about this time last August. Playlist is here. Voot!

Turkish psychedelia 2006 radyo reup

man with a fezHere be a fine selection of choice Turkish psychedelic, garage and early prog music from the 1960s and 1970s. Show was assembled by the nimble fingers of apprentice shipwright John Bagnall. Originally broadcast in September 2006 and has, I believe, proven fairly popular with all who hear it. It’s a pretty rockin broadcast. The attached drawing is of a man with a fez. Full playlist is available. Erkin Koray is as hot as a glass of naneruhu, but Mogollar are my personal gözdes!
