You described the music as “heat-haze digital apparitions.” A nice phrase! But for what it’s worth, there are no computer or otherwise electronically-generated sounds on the album.

The humming tones you’re hearing are a natural acoustical result of the overtone interactions between the piano, voices, violins, harpsichord, etc.
