Once again we have the Polish band That’s How I Fight, who work hard to make distinctive ambient music using a rock-band set-up with guitars, percussion, and synths. Movement Three – Continuum (ZOHARUM ZOHAR 345-2) was made at the same sessions as their previous outing, the underwhelming 2024 album Movement Three. The group, or their press office, goes to some lengths to persuade us that the new album has its own separate identity, yet is also linked to its brother by some mysterious design of holistic integrity. In vain we search for evidence of “denser structures in the compositions”; nothing happens in these lengthy directionless tracks. The blended sound they make is coherent enough, but there’s very little sense of dynamic movement. (31/03/2025)
